On TPAB we got lines like “So why did I weep when Trayvon Martin was in the street, when gang-banging make me kill a nigga blacker than me? Hypocrite!” This line referencing Kodak seems it could be interpreted that he’s saying he is supporting Kodaks views over activism, this is considering the line itself and the line following are “like it when they pro-black, but I’m more Kodak Black.
This has me seriously scratching my head like “wtf does Kendrick want us to take from this?” What really confused me is he’s also always very particular about the artists featured on his albums. This is confusing to me because Kendrick has always not only been outspoken about issues affecting the black community, he even physically protested in Compton himself in 2020. He’s made many homophobic and ignorant comments over the years as well.

Kodak has been pro Trump and anti BLM for years now. He recently went off on the Breakfast Club saying fuck Jay-Z, Obama, and BLM cuz they didn’t help him like Trump did (talking bout the pardon.) Homie got into trouble cuz he made some legit bad decisions, there is nothing that Jay-Z, Obama or BLM should or could have been doing to help that. He is pretty much the opposite of everything I respect Kendrick for, the man comes off a straight up ignorant nearly every time he talks. I used to be a Kodak fan as well, and while I still enjoy his music I do not enjoy him as a person. I’ve loved every album of his and so far this album seems to be the same. I’ve always been a big Kendrick fan from the first time I heard Section. I gotta preface this with the fact that I’m short on time and have only listened to the first 2/3rds of the album once so this is all surface level analysis.
